East London Liquor Company Spirits course
Monday 26 November, 2018£150
Gin and whisky afficiados will be exciting to hear that East London Liquor Company, the spirit heaven just steps away from Roman Road, is hosting their first ever day-long WSET Level 1 Spirits course.
East London Liquor Company is a former pub turned into a gin, vodka and whisky distillery. It first opened its doors in 2014 and it occupies a building in Bow Wharf which used to be an old glue factory. The company distils its own gin and vodka onsite, and mature its own whisky in the cellar below the bar. In short, there isn’t a better place to learn about booze than here.
Whether you’re a starting out bartender or you just have an interest in spirits, this course might be a great opportunity for you to gain more knowledge about certain drinks from the masters of drink-makers.
The course will cover the basic principles of spirit production, the main types and styles of spirits, how to serve spirits, factors affecting the flavour of spirits and how to describe spirits using the WSET Level 1 Systematic Approach to tasting.
At the end of the day, course students will sit an hour-long exam will take place from 4pm until 5pm, followed by pizza, G&Ts and a distillery tour. Tea and coffee will also be available throughout the day.
The cost (£150) includes all of the above, including course materials, exam and full tasting.
If you’d like to sign up, or surprise someone with a very special gift, you need to book by Wednesday 7 November as there are only 10 spaces left.
