Frida Kahlo inspired plant pot styling workshop
Sunday 14 October, 2018 @ 4:00 pm - 6:30 pm£25
The workshop, held in the spacious studio on Cambridge Heath Road, is a celebration of the recent V&A exhibition “Making herself up” where Frida Kahlo’s wardrobe and personal possessions in the Casa Azul (Blue House), her life-long home, are being shown for the first time outside Mexico. Hidden away for 50 years following her death in 1954, the display features intimate items like plaster corsets and prosthetic legs as well as her famous paintings.
During the workshop, you will be learning how to use painting and drawing techniques to create your own colourful succulent plant pot inspired by the extraordinary Mexican painter. Whether you go for an imitation of one of Frida’s self-portraits, cactuses or brightly-coloured houses is completely up to you. You don’t even need to be a skilled painter, as you will be guided through the process by professionals.
The plant pot with a cute succulent is yours to take home afterwards to brighten up your window sill.
