The George Tavern, one of East London’s most loved music venues, is celebrating an important victory with GOMAD Festival  – a weekend of live music, poetry, DJs, performances, face-painting, tarot-card readings and more.

After more than 10 years of battling property developers who put their music license in jeopardy, The Save the George campaign has succeeded in retaining the right to continue featuring the best live music from the freshest talent.

The George Tavern is currently in the last stages of negotiations to be the first music venue in the country to pioneer the Agent of Change principle with the support of Music Venue Trust and Tower Hamlets Council.

Performers confirmed so far include punk poet Dr John Cooper Clarke, satirical poet Adam Horovitz, multi-disciplinary live artist Dzifa Benson and musicians including Dam-Slo, Molteno and Mice on Mars. More poets, rockstars and DJ’s to be announced soon.
