Questions of Embodiment: Creative Dance Workshop
Saturday 29 September, 2018 @ 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm£35 – £40
Join professional dancers, Jackie and Rebecca in this improvisational dance workshop, exploring new ways to experience your body in time and space.
Rebecca will use improvisational scores to explore the role of perception in shaping and being shaped by our environment, while Jackie’s focus will be a detailed investigation of our skeletal anatomy as a way of accessing greater freedom in movement using the Feldenkrais Method.
No experience necessary, just an openness to explore movement creatively.
Jackie Adkins has been teaching improvisational dance for over 25 years. She is a Feldenkrais Method® practitioner based in Frome, Somerset and is currently an Associate Lecturer at Bath Spa University, teaching Movement Skills for acting students.
Rebecca Marta D’Andrea is a dance artist based between Italy and the UK. Her research focuses on how cross-art improvisation can enrich and redefine our perception of the present moment. She graduated in Choreography at Dartington College of Arts in 2006 and has since performed and researched internationally. In 2016 she completed an MA in Creative Practice at Trinity Laban, Independent Dance and Siobhan Davies Dance.
