When the letters are finished they can be posted directly to Santa. The grown-ups can keep busy too – there’ll be a corner dedicated to the art of making Christmas cards, so come and learn a trick or too from the letter writing expert herself, Claire Medcalf.

Carrom games

Carrom boards with pieces grouped together in middle

Ever played Carrom? Hugely popular in the East, this family board game is a bit like table billiards but uses your finger to flick the discs across the board.  The aim of the game is to pot your nine carrom men and the Queen into the corner pockets before your opponent. There’ll be Carrom games set out on the pavement at the festival and teachers on hand if you want to learn. Traditional snacks and hot tea will be served.
