Chisenhale Gallery Forum
Saturday 23 March, 2019 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pmFree
Chisenhale Gallery Forum is an open discussion led by local residents, artists and activists in Tower Hamlets. It’s an opportunity to reflect on the experiences people have, and consider new innovative ways of progressing collaborative and community arts practice. All are welcome, the event is free but booking is recommended.
The Forum was devised by Layla Gatens as part of her role as 2018-19 Curatorial Assistant: Engagement at Chisenhale Gallery. The gallery’s 1988 exhibition, Identity, is the discussion’s starting point.
The exhibition Identity had around two works from 60 individuals or groups based in Tower Hamlets. The works were to comment on how the individual expressed their own identity, representation of self, and environment.
This event is a part of Chisenhale Research, a new strand of archival and programming research which reflects the Gallery’s rich history of artist commissions and exhibitions since 1983.
Chisenhale Gallery is located on the ground floor and is wheelchair accessible. Visit the Chisenhale Gallery Forum event page for more information if you have any access requirements.
