All Points East festival in 2020 will see a return of In The Neighbourhood, four days of community activities that will take place between the festival’s ticketed weekends from Monday 25 to Thursday 28 May.
In collaboration with Tower Hamlets council, the festival will be hosting four days of free entry to its East London location and offering a range of free activities for children and adults. The programme for In The Neighbourhood 2020 has yet to be announced.
2019’s event saw an open-air cinema, live music, creative workshops, street food, pop-up bars, theatres, talks, sports, family activities and more. The festival also held a Craft Beer Festival, with over 20 local breweries taking part and craft beer on tap from such East End favourites as Truman’s, Redchurch and Five Points.
Last year also featured a free UK premiere screening of Goodnight London, a film exploring the hard-hitting issues of gentrification in London. It was followed by a panel discussion talking about the effect of gentrification on creatives and local communities, featuring iconic punk-turned-folk singer Frank Turner, Liv Little (founder of gal-dem magazine) and Jamz Supernova (BBC Radio 1Xtra).
In The Neighbourhood welcomes ticket-buying attendants of All Points East’s weekend line-up, as well as Victoria Park neighbours and tourists from afar.
