About event
Come and join artist Katka Krajči for a huge group doodle as we dream up and map out what our collective landscape of east London looks like and explore the new connections formed when creating on a large-scale together.
Equipped with a range of fun mark-making and drawing materials, Katka will encourage children to respond to an initial outline sketch, inspired by the streets and scenes of the east London we all know as well as artworks from the ‘In the footsteps of the East London Group’ exhibition.
Children will have the chance to recall and re-imagine the streets, people, places, and faces they encounter and interact with every day, exploring what happens when our different memories and versions of east London collide in the form of a large-scale drawing exercise. What imagined and real neighbourhoods can we bring to life? And what future cities can we build together?
In this workshop, children will learn about the possibilities of monochrome colour palettes, a range of drawing and mark-making techniques, group work, collaboration, and how to create artworks on a large scale.
This event is an inclusive, friendly environment which is accessible to all abilities and age groups.
