About event
Taking inspiration from our everyday encounters in and memories of east London, join artist Katka Krajči as we capture the essence of these familiar streets and scenes through drawing and mark making. Open to children and families of all ages – all materials provided.
Taking the small details and happenings that bring our local east London neighbourhoods to life as our starting point, Katka will encourage children to work on a small A5 scale, responding to her initial outline sketches and filling them in with details that they recall from their everyday ramblings.
Whether it’s people, shops, nature, windows, characters, architectures, or textures, we will sketch, doodle, draw, and build out small artworks that pay homage to our memories of space and place.
In this workshop, children will learn about the possibilities of simple colour palettes, a range of drawing and mark-making techniques, and drawing from memory.
This event is an inclusive, friendly environment which is accessible to all abilities and age groups.
