GROW'S 10th birthday part 1: live music and DJs

Hackney Tours // Birthday Special 18:30 – 19:15 (£10 Tickets) Hackney Tours is one of the artist-collaborators that Grow has helped nurture over the years. For over a decade he’s shared a fast-changing and never-boring Wick with everyone from universities and sustainability groups to hen parties.

18:00 – 19:00 // DJ Peruben – Kicking off the evening of our first day of celebrations, GROW co-founder Peruben will be selecting from a life-long collection. Expect strictly vinyl original Peruvian 45’s: cumbia, chicha, tropical and Andean sounds from the 60s, 70s & 80s.

19:00 – 19:45 // Fear Of FLuffing and Mai (LIVE) Mai Nguyen Tri = We welcome the return of the inimitable experimental psychoactive jam band, Fear of Fluffing playing on the canal-side, alongside Grow staple, the incredible Butoh dancer, Mai Nguyen Tri. Mai Nguyen Tri, is a dynamic dance artist revolutionising the scene with captivating Butoh dance and improvisation. Experience a fusion of live music, mesmerising Butoh solos and poetry for a unique blend of art and expression.

19:45 – 21:00 // Grow’s DJs – Wonky folk pop’ outfit – and Strong Island Recordings label artists – Daisy and The Deadheads grace the stage, bringing a DIY indie-pop sound and giving nods to the likes of Vashti Bunyan and Teenage Fanclub.

22:00 – 23:00 // Hotdoggrrrl & The Sesame Buns (LIVE) – Hotdoggrrrl & the Sesame Buns is a dynamic band formed in Hackney Wick in 2014. Their music is a heady blend of grounded rock ‘n’ roll, soul, folk, and garage. With dark melodies and a punching attitude, they deliver unexpected performances.
