Sundial Art Club is a space for people of all backgrounds and abilities to expand their creativity in a supportive environment and learn about different themes responding to the nature around us. Our first term starts in January to May 2025, with the overarching theme of ‘formed and found’.
Every session we’ll focus on a new natural material or technique found in the local environment, which we’ll use as inspiration to create, learn and collaborate. We’ll be using every day, recycled or repurposed tools and materials: making our paint out of red cabbage, making marks with river rocks, or making our brushes out of sticks and moss. Expect guided warm-up exercises to get in the creative flow, learn new techniques and get some focused time to explore your creativity and collaborate with like-minded people.
It’s up to you to decide if you want to join for just one workshop or for the full term. The workshops will be run by artists Babette Van Gerwen and Will Kennedy as part of Sundial Arts, an initiative fostering connection between nature and people through creativity.
Sundial Arts is a community arts initiative founded by William Kennedy and Babette van Gerwen fostering connections between people and nature. William is an artist primarily working in paint and explores the different ways people interact with space and their environment. Babette is an artist and researcher exploring human-nature connections.
