What do you think?
When you think of a mosaic, you might think of colored stone, glass, or ceramic set out in an elaborate and pretty pattern from the ancient world. But now, Mile End Park’s Art Pavilion is making a mosaic made of a very modern material – plastic.
Create-a-borough public art project led by London-based curator of art exhibitions, Art Catcher, needs your bottle tops. Between now and the October half term, residents are encouraged to collect and give plastic lids of all shapes and colours (give them a quick rinse too!) and bring them along to the Art Pavilion in Mile End Park during the first weekend of half term (Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 October from 11am-6pm).
They will contribute to a flagship piece, a jumbo-sized community mosaic which will be made from bottle tops and feature places of significance to the lives of Tower Hamlets residents.
