What do you think?
Stan Jones was a local East Ender through and through. He lived on Lichfield Road for over 80 years, enjoyed going to The Coborn, was a staunch monarchist, and loved nothing more than exploring the area through his photography and sharing his work with neighbours.
Six months after Jones’ passing in December 2021 at the age of 91, his neighbours and family honoured him by bedecking his home in royal family memorabilia and displayed some of his best and most prized images of his beloved East End for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
And now, Jones’ images will be on display at Toynbee Hall on Friday 23 September. Alongside the images, there will be a talk from The Gentle Author about Jones’ photography, and home-cooked Bangladeshi food, as well more East End story-telling.
The event, entitled ‘Making Memories: Our East End – Past, Present and Future’, will start at 4pm and it is free to attend.
