East London Music Group was founded in 2015 by Matthew Hardy and Sarah Campbell, debuting with a new production of Igor Stravinsky’s The Soldier’s Tale at Queen Mary University of London. Since then ELMG have continued to perform in a variety of contexts in East London, including a new production of Façade by William Walton, the commission and premiere of new works by composers including Edward Nesbit, Robin Haigh, Charlotte Harding, and Leo Geyer, and collaborations with Waltham Forest Music Service.
Our main objective is to promote music and the arts in East London. In addition to presenting high quality performances and commissioning new works, we regularly work with community and student music groups. Recent collaborations include a performance with 200 students in the London Borough of Waltham Forest and several side-by-side mentoring schemes with Queen Mary University of London Orchestra.
We don’t have a venue or home address, but perform in various venues across East London.
