JOB: Front Of House / Bartender / Waiter at Flat Earth Pizza

Taking on an important role at Flat Earth who are known for their creative meat-free pizzas that are kind to the planet. Featured as 1 of the top 10 eco-eateries in London by the Evening Standard, this is the chance to work within a small, independent business that likes to do things differently. More than ‘just pizza’, you’ll be shaking cocktails, serving a menu bursting with unique brunch dishes, exceptional wine and Climpson & Sons coffee.

Principal duties and responsibilities:

GENERAL
-Greeting people warmly and acknowledging them when they leave
-Engaging, developing and maintaining relationships with our guests, especially regulars
-Attending team, front of house and staff meetings as appropriate
-Ensure the daily and weekly cleaning schedules are completed to a high standard
-Supervise deliveries when opening, including the checking of delivery notes and verification of delivered goods
-Completing all closing duties to a high standard efficiently and effectively
-To undertake any other appropriate duties and responsibilities required and requested by the owners eg. the writing of a-boards, maintenance of plants
-Be responsible for the smooth running of Flat Earth in the mornings, if opening

RESTAURANT
-Full table service
-Keeping the restaurant and bar clean and tidy and following opening/ cleaning checklist
-Upselling and recommending appropriate meal enhancing items
-Greeting guests as they come in
-Leave the restaurant clean, tidy and organised for the next shift

BAR
-Greeting guests as they come in
-Maintaining the cleanliness of the bar and counter areas
-Replenishing fridges, and bar stock including, any syrups, pre-batches, garnishes
-Dispensing all drinks to FOH
-Cleaning and replenishing glassware
-Liaising with the host and assisting seating bookings
-Polishing cutlery and plates
-Replenishing water station
-Making all desserts/ ice-creams
-Configure coffee machine regularly to ensure correct pour
-Make excellent coffee (training will be given)
-Maintaining adequate stock levels of soft drinks / coffee etc. Stock take of drinks when requested
-Keeping owners informed of any bar items such as sugar, takeaway cups that are low in stock
-Keeping the restaurant and bar clean and tidy and following opening/ cleaning checklist
-Leave the bar clean, tidy and organised for the next shift
-Assisting guests with shop purchases or takeaway orders

About you:

-Strong attention to detail and efficient
-Confidence to chat to customers on our ever changing, seasonal menu and carefully-sourced ingredients
-Passionate about food, drink and living sustainably
-Experience working within hospitality
-Wine knowledge is a plus or, alternatively, the willingness to learn
-Upbeat, kind and welcoming
