As part of the Cabrolé project by Eric Longa Company, we are bringing you Flamenco Rumbas! Join the incredible Laura González, versatile flamenco artist and experienced teacher, trained at the renowned Amor de Dios school in Madrid, and singer with the flamenco-based group Identidades. In this workshop, Laura will introduce you to the fundamentals of Flamenco Catalan Rumba, you’ll explore the cultural and historical roots of rumba, and finally you will work on short choreographed sequences. This session is designed to build confidence, coordination, and stage presence, while celebrating the joyful, expressive spirit of flamenco rumba!
In this workshop, Laura will introduce you to the fundamentals of Flamenco Catalan Rumba, with a focus on technique, rhythm, and expression. We’ll begin with a warm-up and posture work, followed by basic rumba footwork, arm movements, and palmas (hand clapping). You will work on short choreographed sequences that fuse rhythm, movement, and musicality.
Eric Longa is a UK based multidisciplinary performance company with origins in movement, dedicated to exploring identity and fostering artistic and social dialogue through Spanish cultural heritage, professional development, and community engagement. Eric Longa was founded by Spanish artist Patricia Langa, and it also encompasses all her work as a performer, choreographer, and movement director.
