Poplar Union is a vibrant arts and community space based in Tower Hamlets since 2017.
What we do and how we do it:
Committed to supporting the local community through art, culture and wellbeing, we offer a diverse programme of events, including live music, theatre, comedy and dance, family activities, health and wellbeing classes, community workshops and festivals, and much more. We strive to enhance physical and social prosperity through creativity to unite and celebrate the lives in east London.

BLX2024 | BHM: Black History Month
This October, Poplar Union proudly presents BLX 2024, a vibrant celebration of Black History Month’s theme of “Reclaiming Narratives,” supported by Tower Hamlets Council. Immerse yourself in a rich tapestry of drama, photography, live music, and a maker’s fair, all spotlighting Black heritage and contemporary culture. Featuring dynamic local talent, this exciting programme revives and honours Black British heritage, sparking conversations and strengthening community ties. Join us as we uplift and preserve the powerful stories that deserve to be heard and remembered.
