Event description
“How can young people use art to create change in their mental health and change how mental health care is imagined, delivered and funded?”
Young Londoners invite you to join them for the public launch of ‘A Manifesto for 2.8 Million Minds’ – a radical plan for young people, mental health and art. This will be followed by a network making event to plan for the future and you are invited to get involved.
Over the past six months 120 people have contributed to ‘A Manifesto for 2.8 Million Minds’. A disability justice informed approach to how young Londoners want to use art to radically reimagine mental health support, justice and pride. Bernie Grant Arts Centre, Chisenhale Gallery and artist ‘the vacuum cleaner’ have led this response to the mental health crisis young people are experiencing. They brought together a range of young people, artists, activists, health and academic professionals, youth workers, parents and carers, curators and more to imagine how art could better support young people’s mental health.
This informal and fun public event will share the outcomes of the process and what the next steps are. It will call for us to better support young people’s mental health.
No need to book. Come as yourself, ready to listen to what young people and their allies want to say.
