About event
Workshop 353 is honoured to host The Framer’s Daughter, an exhibition of paintings by the local artist Alice Sielle, with a private viewing on Thursday 4 May.
In the words of Alice: ‘This series of 10 abstract oil paintings in black, white, and 23 carat gold leaf on paper is made up of 5 pairs of positive and negative versions of each variation. All my work is concerned with the formalities of picture making: balance, line, colour, tone, proportions and so on. I recently banned myself from painting on canvas because I had run out of storage space. Technically, they are the hardest things I have ever done as I have had to work out how to transfer what I was doing on canvas to paper. It is not easy.’
We look forward to seeing you at the private viewing!
