Event description
A new exhibit is being held at The Brady Art Gallery, courtesy of Kay Kanté. Her work is titled ‘Find Beauty in the Ordinary’ and depicts London street scenes, capturing moments of ordinary life. Her work will be showcased from Wednesday 4th May- Saturday 28th May.
Kay has lived locally for 30 years. She had to give up her work as a lawyer in an international development bank due to repetitive strain injury. Adjusting to life without a legal career, Kay took classes in horticulture and garden design, which included a brief pre-course on ‘how to draw’. She found it revelatory. Inspired by the idea that artists see shapes, colours and contrasts, rather than things, Kay explored life drawing and portrait painting, then painted and exhibited with local art group Art4U2, based at the Brady Centre.
You can drop into the gallery on the 11th May 4-7pm to meet Kay, to talk about her works.
