About event
Balancing Aces is a 10-week improvisation singing project to connect us to those emotions and feelings we may be unable to fully acknowledge. We delve inwards through sounds, words, breath and movement.
Together we welcome in and sit beside that which arises. Euphoria, sadness, self-appreciation, enjoyment, silliness, anger, grief – feelings that naturally exist. Allowing a compassionate space to observe, free from judgement.
Adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) describe traumatic experiences during childhood and adolescence that can have lasting effects into adulthood.
Sessions are led by Martina Randles, an artist with a high ACE count. “Vocal improvisation has helped me through many emotive, yet disconnected moments, to safely come home to myself, expressing that which I was unable to articulate by any other means.”
Participant numbers are kept small due to the size of the venue and the nature of the practice. Book online. There are a limited number of concessions available, please email for more information.
