Birangonas: Public lecture at Tower Hamets Archives

Prof. Nayanika Mookherjee will share her research on public memories of sexual violence during the 1971 Bangladesh War of Independence.

With the help of testimonies of survivors, state officials and human rights activists, alongside archival sources and cultural representations, she will talk about how these histories inspired and informed the creation of a new graphic novel and animated film which tells the intergenerational story of one (fictionalised) family.
