Event description
On 10 May, Bring Your Own Baby is hosting a child-friendly guided walk that will cover all of the key East London sites in suffragette history.
The walk will start outside the Bow Road underground station and end outside the Lord Morpeth pub on Old Ford Road. There will be a stop at The Nunnery Cafe an hour into the walk for coffee, food, and baby changing.
The walk will include stops at the Bow Road Police Station, where Sylvia Pankhurst was arrested and held for smashing windows in February 1913, the former ‘Bryant & May’ factory, famous for the matchgirls’ strike of 1888, and the site of the second ‘Women’s Social & Political Union’.
Come along to spend the day learning about suffragette history with your baby in tow.
