Event description
Out on the Page and Audible present ‘A Celebration of Queer Storytelling’, a one-off panel discussion at The Barbican on Tuesday 27 June.
The event features emerging and established LGBTQIA+ writers including the award-winning Lisa Williamson (The Art of Being Normal, All About Mia); poet, playwright and education facilitator Gayathiri Kamalakanthan, and presenter and broadcaster Shivani Dave. More speakers are to be announced in the coming weeks!
Out on the Page is a non-profit organisation that aims to support the development of young writers and Black, Asian and Global Majority writers from the LGBTQIA+ community.
The event is a culmination of a wider project created by Audible and Out On the Page this pride month which aims to encourage the UK to engage with, discover, and broaden their knowledge of LGBTQIA+ stories and authors. The featured panellists have contributed to The Pride List of Queer Storytelling, an extensive collection which platforms some of the UK’s most important and exciting voices from the LGBTQIA+ community.
