Join us on the 5th April for an entertaining and tasty evening of cheese! Michael Jones, or “The Cheeseman” will be sharing his passion for artisan British Farmhouse Cheeses and will pair 4 outstanding examples with different alcoholic drinks.
Michael spent the last 14 years selling British cheese to the Swiss from his own shop in Zürich and he’s now “mongering” at Londons oldest cheese shop and is a close neighbour, and now a regular face, at the Angel & Crown.
On the evening enjoy a welcome drink as Michael introduces himself, his work and his passion for the very best British cheese. He will then say a few words about each cheese and why we have chosen a particular drink to pair with it (the pairings are not yet finalised, but they will include wine, beer, cider and something sweet!). We hope to finish by 9pm, but there will be time for questions and answers as well as for him to share some of his amusing and heartwarming anecdotes of his cheesy time in Switzerland.The 4 cheeses (a generous 150g per person) will be served with bread, crackers and chutney.
Please note that most, if not all the cheeses will be made from raw milk. Also, please advise upon booking if you have any nut or gluten allergies, and if non-alcoholic drinks are preferred.
