Event description
A call out for young artists of Tower Hamlets – we invite all the young talents aged 0-16 to make a poster about air pollution for Clean Air Day. Some of the exciting works will be exhibited at the Yurt Cafe on the 15-18 June.
Air pollution in Limehouse is twice above the legal limit. This affects children’s lungs most because they are still developing. It can lead to asthma and other conditions that prevent kids from learning and playing. Sounds bad, but there is a solution.
Think of your commute to school – how clean is the air? How can we help improve it?
Shall we plant trees absorbing pollution? Shall we ask neighbours to walk and cycle instead of driving? Share your ideas with friends and family. Draw a poster to show how harmful air pollution is and how we all can change it together. Become #greenaslime!
For more ideas, look at Actionforcleanair.org.uk.
Scan your artwork and send it to marina.k.walker@gmail.com by Mon 12 June, then bring it over. Come to your first exhibition on 15-18 June.
We will have a special surprise on Saturday 17 June at 10 am. See you then!
