Event description
The Festival of Latin American Women in the Arts (FLAWA) is an exciting new festival showing the perceptions of women from Latin America in film, music, literature and arts.
London is home to a rich crowd of Latin American creators – an important diaspora in this city- which is growing in size, and in creative force. Women are the drivers of this community.
FLAWA encourages the celebration of what Latin American women do, by honouring the cisgender, transgender, queer and non-binary Latin American creators. The events include reclaimed narratives, myriad perspectives and swathes of opportunity including:
- Collectiva and Desta French (Friday 6 May)
- Workshop: Poetry in Performing Arts (Friday 13 May)
- Theatre: Salsa y Control (Friday 13 May)
- Literary Talk: Leaving and Returning (Friday 13 May)
- Latinx Poetics in Motion (Saturday 14 May)
Tickets start at just £10.
