What fruits might an artist’s work bear?
In response to Ravelle Pillay’s exhibition Idyll at Chisenhale Gallery, her interest in cooking as an artistic practice and the history of botanical gardens, artists Inês Neto dos Santos and Nora Silva (aka The Gramounce) host a communal feast at the gallery as an original creative enquiry into the work.
Positioning themselves amidst the lush, vegetal landscapes of Pillay’s paintings, where leaves drip, puddles form, and banana, taro and jackfruit trees abound, The Gramounce invite you to imagine what it might be like to live, breathe and eat within them.
