Love playing global music or jazz? Aged 12-21 years? Want to learn how to improvise and play music by ear alongside some of the UK’s most renowned professional global musicians? Then join this year’s special Grand Union Youth Orchestra Summer School – for as little as £20 a day in the heart of Globe Town at the Tramshed Community Hub, E2 (bursary places are also available).
Daring to be bold and explore music through improvisation and learning by ear, gives those who join up for the GUYO Summer School an authentic experience of music-making, outside of the Western education model.
Young musicians with curiosity aged 12-21yrs, are invited to join current members of the Grand Union Youth Orchestra and gather to explore all the musical traditions that thrive in today’s multi-cultural Britain. No Auditions required.
The Summer School now in its eight year is open to young musicians who wish to delve deeper into world music techniques.
