Event description
Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park is teeming with mammals, birds, and insects, especially at this time of year as winter makes way for spring. And, one of the best markers of spring is the arrival of our fuzzy friends, the humble bumble bee.
Join Mark Patterson, a professional ecologist and community gardener, on Saturday 21 May at Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park for an introductory course on bees.
There are around 270 species of bee in Britain, although many are under-recorded, under-appreciated and under-loved. Found in a range of habitats, bees have fascinating life histories and ecosystem roles.
If you’re interested in finding out more about bees, then this is the course for you. Learn To Love Bees is a gentle introduction to our planet’s most important pollinators, introducing aspects of their biology and ecology.
This course combines the use of classroom-led learning and outside learning opportunities led by one of our bee tutors to give individuals the skills and confidence to learn more about the lives and ecological role of bees.
