Event description
This free community event is hosted by Stephen Pierre, the founder of UMAT (Unity Music Arts Team CIC), which operates as a grassroots non-profit community interest company with its main aim to promote creative music talent and community enrichment.
Many of the musicians are students and graduates invited from many of London’s Music Conservatoires such as The Guildhall, Trinity Laban and The Royal College of Music.
There will also be performances from music collectives from the long-established Bermondsey Square Jazz Days that delighted crowds last year in The Palm Tree courtyard in Mile End Park.
In between the live jazz band sessions, they will be presenting several sets of Salsa Dancing workshops inviting the audience to take part. These sessions will be led by Sean Vickery of Salsa Oracle.
Following successful outdoor events last summer and in June 2023, the event will be held on Sunday 13 August from 2-6 pm.
The outdoor events celebrate the universal language of music and welcome a wide demographic of people.
There will be event seating and disabled-access toilet facilities.
