Event description
LGBTQ+ printmaking: learn how to lino-print onto a tote bag with a relaxed and friendly queer group at The Create Place on Saturday 6 May.
As part of the “Discover” season at St Margaret’s House, I’m excited to offer an LGBTQIA+ tote bag lino-printing workshop at The Create Place in Bethnal Green.
Over the two and a half hours we have together, I’ll take you through the lino-printing process from start to finish. We’ll begin with a few warm-up drawing skills, leading into some linocutting techniques and a demonstration on how to transfer your design onto a lino-block. During the second part of the workshop, you’ll learn how to carve your design and finally how to print it onto a tote bag!
This session will be open for up to 10 people, thus providing a friendly atmosphere, where guidance and support can take place.
This workshop is open to total beginners and also to people who would like to develop their lino-printing skills.
Prices are on a pay what you can scale and will include all resources, plus you’ll get to take your tote bag and lino block home.
I’m really looking forward to bringing a group of queer people together to make unique tote bags! Bring your own spare tote bags to up-cycle or use one provided.
If you have access requirements you would like me to know about before the workshop, please email Gemma by May 4th at wildwaterartstore@gmail.com.
