Event description
Off The Chest Poetry Night returns to East London for the first time in two years, featuring acclaimed poets lisaluxx, Bayan Goudarzpour, and Jeremiah Brown.
Part of Bridging Landscapes, a new arts festival curated by Aisha Zia at 62 Gladstone Street for French Riviera, at Shoreditch’s Rich Mix.
Off The Chest is a thriving, sell-out London-based open mic poetry night, championing original voices and poets of diverse backgrounds. Join them this summer for their biggest night yet, with a line-up of acclaimed feature poets lisaluxx, Bayan Goudarzpour, and Jeremiah Brown, plus sets from hosts Iftikhar Latif and Ella Dorman-Gajic. The night will also include their renowned OPEN MIC – for your chance to take to the stage, book your ticket and sign up on the day of the event. Tower Hamlet residents go for just £3!
The night will be rounded off with an explosive DJ set from DJ Shimmy Ahmed. There will be a pre-show poetry workshop run by Bayan Goudarzpour, open to 16 – 24 year-olds. Buying a ticket to this workshop will also grant you access to the main event.
Off The Chest first launched at East London’s HiLand Cafe on Roman Road in October 2019. Since then, they have performed in multiple venues around London, to sell-out audiences. They are supported by Arts Council England.
