Event description
Learn how to convert surplus food at home into yummy pickles, jams, and chutneys with easy recipes and tips from cultures around the world.
While masses of food are being thrown away every day there are plenty of techniques from different cultures that can teach us how to better manage ingredients in our kitchen.
Preservation Culture work with multi-cultural communities all over London to share this knowledge in the form of easy recipes that you can recreate at home.
In order to spread the tasty message like really good jam on toast, we gathered a group of women from ethnic-minority communities in London who are passionate about cooking and very knowledgeable about all kinds of preservation techniques.
Join this workshop hosted by women from multi-cultural communities to learn easy recipes that help convert household food waste into yummy pickles, jams and chutneys.
In the 3-hour long workshop, you will learn three unique preservation recipes, meet people from diverse cultural backgrounds, learn about their food heritage, and walk out with jars full of preserves (perfect timing for that park picnic with friends!)
