About event
If you fancy a leisurely Sunday walk with tea and cake afterwards, join us as we follow the parish boundary of St Barnabas Bethnal Green. It won’t be far, just around Wennington Green, up into Victoria Park as far as the Burdett Coutts fountain, and back down across the Roman Road to Lyal Road and past the Palm Tree. Then the best bit: tea and cake at St Barnabas!
Everyone is very welcome — you don’t have to be someone who comes to St Barnabas all the time (or ever!).
We’re marking the feast day of our patron saint St Barnabas by reviving this ancient tradition of walking the parish boundary, called beating the bounds.
We hope very much you can take part. Let’s hope it’ll be a sunny day but the forecast is mixed. Please make sure you bring the right things for the weather — you might even need a water bottle if the sun does come out! The going should be easy, the ground is all pretty level, and if it’s wet we can stick to the pavements.
