This party will explore the cross-sections of different sounds and rhythms including poems and stories. ‘When the Night Speaks’ is part of the ‘Shubbak Festival’ throughout this summer from 23 June – 9 July.
LUMA, Basma, Layla Assam, Aisha Merza and Hiba host the night party.
LUMA runs ‘Habibti Nation’, a club night and monthly radio show with a focus on female, non-binary and trans artists.
Through a global reach of different rhythmic percussion and performing contrasting genres and moods, she has established her presence in the London music scene.
Basma hosts ‘Khartoum Arrivals’ on NTS Radio and is co-host of the radio show ‘Hear, Sense and Feel’. She plays electric folk and wedding-themed music inspired by Sudan and beyond.
