Event description
On 21 October, WomanEwer is holding a workshop from 11.00 to 12.30 pm in which you can learn basic elements of self-defence. Most people think of self-defence as a kick to the groin or fist in the eyes of an attacker. But the actual meaning of self-defence is doing everything possible to avoid fighting someone who threatens or attacks you.
WomanEwer is an all-female-led artistic project, that brings women of all ages and horizons together into a safe space, to explore and come to terms with their own experiences of sexual abuse through dance, theatre and healing methods. Ewer is an old word for a jug, its shape is reminiscent of the female form and extends to the idea of the container-keeper-receiver, giver and guardian of life, nourishment and stories.
