Clarion Housing has submitted a planning application to demolish the existing, and uninhabited, Lemon Tree House on Bow Road and build in its place 54 rent homes.
Clarion’s reason for seeking its demolition and rebuilding apartments is because ‘the homes are of poor quality and unsafe to live in’.
It wants to build 54 new homes. It states that ‘all new homes will be affordable rent’, and that ‘sustainability and reducing CO2 emissions are central to our plans.’
This October, the application will go to the council’s planning committee where it will be decided if planning permission is to be granted. If granted, Clarion will start the project in spring 2023.
