For the month of Augst, the beloved Coborn pub on Coborn Road will be closing for renovation.
Following The Crown’s refurbishment – another pub part of the Youngs chain – its sister pub The Coborn is now also having a makeover of its own.
From Monday 25 July to Thursday 25 August, The Coborn will be closed for some well-deserved TLC. The local pub has been described as ‘always a pleasurable experience; lovely food, excellent choice of ales and wines plus friendly and attentive service.’ and ‘flawless from top to bottom’.
The Coborn is not a listed building, but a former Whitbread house that was acquired by Youngs in 1984. The pub’s name is taken from Mrs Priscilla Coborn who left funding in her will for the poor in Bow. Originally it was a Lacon Brewery pub.
