The future of The George Tavern in Stepney Green may be in question after developers of the Exmouth Estate, which sits behind the venue, have worked around taking vital noise surveys. This means the current proposal submitted leaves The George open to noise complaints from new residents, with the potential result in the loss of its music license and eventual closure of the venue.

Myself and partner strongly object to the problems that will face The George which will arise if the Exmouth Estate is developed as planned. There are few pubs open in Tower Hamlets that have free live music and that also have the facilities for private events. Have been to both an engagement party as well as birthday parties with live music. Where else are we expected to go.
