This week, children from Olga Primary School in Bow visited the new ‘eco’ playground in Mile End Park, the first of its kind to be installed anywhere in the UK.
The playground, some of which is made from recycled food packaging waste, was produced using low-CO2 methods to reduce its carbon footprint. The play equipment is suitable for younger children, with half being fully accessible to children of all abilities.
It marks a £25,000 investment into the park, part of Tower Hamlets council’s wider £10 million investment which is improving over 60 local parks.
