Tower Hamlets Council have partnered with Trees for Streets to help residents fund the planting of trees in streets and parks across the borough.
This is just one of a number of innovative strategies the council is using to increase its tree population. In doing so, the tree planting will help reduce air pollution, absorb carbon, improve mental and physical wellbeing and generally make Tower Hamlets a nicer place to live.
Trees for Streets are working with a number of councils around the UK, including Tower Hamlets. You can even take up the job of watering your sponsored tree and save up to £200 in watering costs.
To take part, see the Trees for Streets website for more information.
