Twelve new trees are growing in Bethnal Green Gardens thanks to the hard work of local residents (Friends of Bethnal Green Gardens).
Bethnal Green Gardens has been at the heart of Bethnal Green since the 17th century. On 4 March 2023, residents joined together to plant the new trees, increasing local biodiversity, contributing to combatting change and making the Gardens beautiful.
The trees were given a great start in life by children from Rangers Nursery School who sang tree songs to wish them well.
Friends of Bethnal Green Gardens volunteers joined together to plant the trees under the supervision of Trees for Cities. The trees were purchased by Tower Hamlets Parks.
