Wapping Hockey Club has over 300 members playing across 20 mens’ and womens’ teams, and a “Kidds” section serving over 200 children. Our flagship sites are at Lee Valley Hockey Centre and John Orwell Sports Centre and we are looking for local businesses who may like to connect with us as fellow members of the community.
Operating out of Tower Hamlets and Newham, we are part of the most disadvantaged boroughs of London, where poverty rates and those of childhood obesity are some of the highest in the country. We are committed to offering sports and a place of belonging to local children for whom it may otherwise be inaccessible.
We also are the first hockey club to work with GP social prescribers to recommend our community “Back to Hockey” sessions where local residents can learn to play hockey completely free, giving them an opportunity to exercise and meet other individuals.
Our commitment to society is unrivalled for a club of our size, and we would hope that by partnering with us we can promote a local business: we have a very sophisticated social media presence which received over 1 million views last season, providing an excellent opportunity for a sponsor to build brand awareness.
