Description
Depression. Comedy.
When life was unbearably, unrelentingly awful. And the movies lifted us up.
Every Thursday at 7.30pm, Shawm Kreitzman introduces and presents a free film screening, held at the Victoria Park Baptist Church on Grove Road.
Our current series showcases films of the 1930s (mostly) that provided optimism and solace at a time when lives were bleak, grim and without hope. Rather than beating everyone into submission with tales of woe and hardship, the movies gave everyone relief from all that.
Our series aims to do the same thing.
All of our film screenings are completely free, and open to everyone (although please note that some films might be unsuitable for children; check our website for details about the upcoming screening).
Coffee, cake etc. will be available!
(Doors open at 7.00pm)
Do come along; everyone is welcome!
