Post-Depression Tragedy
A celebration of “Dark Cinema” or, as the French critics of the time liked to call it: Film Noir!
Every Thursday at 7.30pm, Shawm Kreitzman introduces and presents a free film screening, held at the Victoria Park Baptist Church on Grove Road.
Our current series showcases films of the post-war era, when Hollywood cinema began to venture into the murky underworld of shadows and sleaze (within the strict confines of a puritanical moral code!). The films produces during this era are remembered today as some of the juiciest and most dramatic of Hollywood’s Golden Age.
All of our film screenings are completely free, and open to everyone (although please note that some films might be unsuitable for children; check our website for details about the upcoming screening).
Coffee, cake etc. will be available!
(Doors open at 7.00pm)
Do come along; everyone is welcome!

1 Review on “The Illusion of Depth at Victoria Baptist Church, Bow”
Just a word about the very enjoyable “Illusion of Depth” free film screenings on Thursday evenings at Victoria Park Baptist Church, Grove Road, E3. Films usually “vintage”, some famous, others not so well known, but all of interest. Introduced by film buff Shawm Kreitzmann, who shares his wide knowledge about the films, their history and social background. Great outings for those interested in film.
