Description
I am a community artist exploring what it means to be human. Alongside my own practice, I offer vocal improvisation sessions and a singing sanctuary for ‘soon-to-be’ and new mums.
Mother Song
Mother Song offers singing groups for ‘soon-to-be’ and new mums. The meetings are held weekly in Bow and Haggerston where the group sings simple songs together, sometimes in unison, rounds or harmony. The repertoire is gathered from around the world from lullabies, folk, gospel, African and sacred songs. All voices/levels are welcome, songs are taught by ear. We invite you to connect with each other through sound, forge new friendships and allow space to turn up as you are
Balancing Aces
This is a 10-week vocal improvisation project, exploring what it means to be human.
During the sessions we explore inwards, pulling out different emotions and expressions. We might consider gratitude, sadness, boundaries or self-compassion through the vocal, physical and written by creating songs, sound baths, movement, breath and recordings.
ACEs stands for Adverse Childhood Experiences as we look to redress the balance of trauma-inducing patterns that might trigger and show up as adults. We look to go safely to our edges to better understand ourselves. This is a personal creative practice shared by an artist. The Chapel acoustics are amazing and it’s a small space perfect for a capped number of singers. All singing levels and voices are welcome.
