Urban Makers

Urban Makers was founded in Bow, by two designer friends Ilka Dickens and Julia Redgrove. Building on their personal experiences as artists, Ilka and Julia have built a vibrant creative network where designers can tap into the strength of community.
They are a regular presence at Old Spitalfields Market – hosting guest markets every Wednesday and the last weekend of the month – and they have appeared at events at Here East and Stylist Live, amongst others. 
After six years of markets, workshops, and events, Urban Makers has now opened an independent gift shop on Roman Road showcasing independent designers from the local area and further afield.
And what’s more, they host seasonal makers markets at the Ecology Pavilion in Mile End Park. Their Christmas market takes place over 2 weekends in November and December.
