Screened by trees and founded in 1900, the Victoria Park Bowls Club is a special corner of Victoria Park. It’s one of the only public bowls greens left in Tower Hamlets, which means you can turn up and give lawn bowls a try. The club’s always keen to welcome new members.
To play bowls in Victoria Park, you need to pay the Park £3.40 an hour per person, using this email address VictoriaParkHallBooking@towerhamlets.gov.uk.
Monday afternoon is the best time to come and have a go, when there are lots of other players to introduce you to the game. Aim to arrive at the bowls green at 12:30 for a 1pm start.
