Event description
On Thursday 22 June, the London Legacy Development Corporation host a talk and social at their art space the Good Growth Hub with East London artist Lulu Wang among others.
Lulu Wang was shortlisted for the East London Art Prize. She will provide insight into her experience of the Prize and what it is like working and practising as an artist in East London today. She will elaborate on her interdisciplinary, mixed-media mark-making and performance-based practice exploring themes of the body, movement, and connections between emotional worlds.
Wang will also host a ‘trace making’ and movement workshop to encourage attendees to both connect with other artists in the room and explore how methods of drawing and mark-making can enable one to realise and visualise the body and its language.
The event also features the Good Growth Hub’s in-house artists, writer and zinemaker Mohammed Z. Rahman and illustrator and educator Olivia Twist. They will provide insight into their own practice and the opportunities, grants, and programmes that the Hub has to offer East London artists.
Food and refreshments will be provided by the Nunnery Cafe.
